Our BioStuds have undergone a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by Imperial College London Consultants to measure their environmental impact. The findings confirm that:

Proven FIRE Performance – facilitated by BRE

Our BioStuds have been rigorously tested by BRE Group, a world-renowned independent testing authority, to ensure they meet the highest standards in fire resistance, structural strength, and acoustics.

 

BRE's fire resistance testing evaluates how well construction materials can withstand exposure to high temperatures and flames under controlled conditions. The test measures integrity (whether flames penetrate the material), insulation (how well the material resists heat transfer), and stability (how long it maintains structural integrity). These tests were conducted as part of a full partition wall system, ensuring real-world performance validation.


Fire Resistance Testing (EN 1364-1:2015)

✅ 60-Minute Fire Rating – With single-layer British Gypsum Gyproc Fireline plasterboard.
✅ 120-Minute Fire Rating – With double-layer British Gypsum Gyproc Fireline plasterboard.

To ensure BioStuds can handle real-world construction demands, BRE conducted structural load tests, simulating partition wall performance under various pressures. These tests assess deflection, bending resistance, and load-bearing capacity, confirming BioStuds' ability to function as a direct alternative to steel studs. These tests were performed on fully assembled wall partitions, not just individual components.


✅ Supports Partition Walls up to 2.67m High with double-layer standard wallboards – Suitable for commercial and residential builds.
✅ Deflection & Strength Validated – Meets performance benchmarks of traditional steel studs.

Acoustic testing at BRE determines how well BioStuds prevent sound transmission, essential for creating quiet and comfortable indoor environments. These tests measure airborne sound insulation, ensuring that BioStuds provide superior noise reduction compared to conventional steel studs. The tests were carried out as part of a complete wall system, ensuring accurate real-world sound insulation performance.
